We provide Housing Support services in Edinburgh, Fife and Lothians.

What is Housing Support?

Housing support services can help people to live as independently as possible in the community. These services can be provided in individuals' homes, or in temporary accommodation such as hostels for homeless people.

Registered housing support services are regulated by the Care Inspectorate using the 2009 National Care Standards for Housing Support servicesAt Eagles we aim to  provide housing related support to people with disabilities, long term conditions and mental health illnesses to enable them to maintain their tenancies and to achieve their aspirations for independent living.

The largest group of people who receive housing support is older people living in sheltered housing, but a wide range of people with particular needs can receive housing support services:

  • people with a chronic illness

  • people with a physical impairment or learning disability

  • people with drug and alcohol-related problems

  • others who need support, like women escaping domestic violence, homeless people, refugees and ex-offenders

People who live in supported housing may require help with the following areas:

Domestic help 

  • Shopping 

  • Housework 

  • Laundry

  • Finance management 

  • Meal preparation

  • Social integration

  • Social visits

  • Outings 

  • Day or night sitting services 

Social care 

  • Companionship, social skills and social interaction 

  • Stimulation 

  • Escorting to medical, social and educational appointments

  • Pet care 

  • Participation in hobbies, activities, outings and holidays to support maintain tenancies

  • General supported living assistance

Specialist services 

  • Support of people with Autism 

  • Support of people with severe epilepsy including the use of rescue medications 

  • Behaviour management.
